“Magical! Reidun and her husband played for our ceremony and the cocktail hour. We got married in a sheep’s field off of Slea Head Drive overlooking the Atlantic. My wife wanted a harpist because it’s our daughters favorite instrument and I wanted an uilleann piper because that is my favorite instrument. And we lucked out when we found Reidun and her husband because the pair added the perfect touch to our magical wedding. When I heard the harp and the pipes playing as my wife started her procession down the sheep’s field, I started crying. It was such a beautiful magical moment…like out of a movie. Reidun helped us pick out the best songs for the various parts of our ceremony. She’s an excellent communicator and we never had any trouble organizing or coordinating, even though we live in the U.S. We also had her play the cocktail hour following the ceremony, though my wife and I missed it unfortunately because we were taking photos. Reidun played at our wedding in May this year. We are so grateful to her for helping to create the perfect atmosphere at our ceremony! From the beginning, Reidun was so easy to work with-from suggesting pieces to suit different parts of the ceremony to working alongside two of my family members who I wanted to sing and play at our wedding! She went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The music on the day was so beautiful! So many of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed it. We were delighted to have Reidun & Barry play for our ceremony and drinks reception recently (Sept 2021) in Skibbereen. Reidun’s harp playing and Barry’s whistle/pipes were beautiful, sensitive and set the scene for a great day. Both have a great repertoire of tunes from traditional to contemporary. Rainy Night in Soho was to be our 1st dance but because of Covid restriction on live bands we asked Reidun & Barry if could they do it for the ceremony. They did it brilliantly! Even during the various lockdowns and changing restrictions she was so easy to contact and communicate with. On the day itself, even the snow and icy roads didn’t stop her. I think harp music is particularly nice with the smaller weddings but we chose to add Barry to accompany the harp. He is talented on many instruments. He also sang the Psalm for us. Great duo.
