Update on “Violins for Ukrainian Girls”

Apparently the girls have found instruments…

Thanks again to everyone who got involved, offered an instrument or shared the message and made this appeal go viral.

Little did I know last Saturday, when writing these 3 emails to Sempre Music Academy, Kerry Comhaltas and Ballylongford/Tarbert Comhaltas and sharing it on facebook myself, that it would go viral and literally thousands of people reacted/shared/got involved!

It’s impossible to thank everyone in person for their kind offers, and only a few made it into the newspapers, but wow, what an “Irish Welcome” they got!

Thanks also to Music Generation Kerry who have a scheme for lending instruments, and a special thanks to Sempre Music Academy who generously offered classical lessons to these highly talented young ladies!

Another special thanks to St Brigid’s Presentation Secondary School Killarney (principal Roisin Moore) for their kind and generous offer of instruments.

Also not to forget to mention Dorothy Lynch and Dermot Moynihan from Loft in Killorglin who helped this family in the first place, and Michael Healy-Rae who helped the family finding a place to stay!

And on the same note I must say I’m very impressed about how many people are helping with donating clothes/collecting clothes for the refugees, lots of people are doing an amazing job.

Well done everyone!
